Continuing the success of Tea Masters Cup Vietnam 2017 in, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi, Vietnam, this year, Vietnam Tea Association organized Tea Masters Cup Vietnam 2019 in Hoang Su Phi district, Ha Giang Province, Vietnam on 19–20 September 2019.
This is the 4th time Vietnam Tea Association hosted Tea Masters Cup Vietnam. This year the National body cooperated with People Committee of Hoang Su Phi District to organize the Cup. Therefore this year, TMC Vietnam was not only a competition but also a challenge as well as an adventure to explore mountainous Vietnam. And the theme of this year was Ancient Snow Shan Tea.
24 Tea Masters competed with passion and professionalism using Ancient Snow Shan Tea in 4 categories, including: Tea Preparation, Tea Pairing, Tea Tasting and Tea Mixology.
After two days full of amazing performances from tea masters, and thanks to serious and hard work of our judges committee, TMC VN 2019 succeeded in crowning the worthy champion of each category as below:
Tea Preparation: Champion: Mr Pham The Duyet. Runner-up: Ms Ly Mui Muong. Third Place: Mr Nguyen Minh Hien.
Tea Pairing: Champion: Ms Tran Thi Thanh Nhi. Runner-up: Mr Huynh Huu Duy. Third place: Ms Hoang My Hanh.
Tea Mixology: Champion: Ms Le Nhat Minh Khue. Runner-up: Mr Huynh Huu Duy. Third place: Mr Nguyen Duc Cuong.
Tea Tasting: Champion: Mr Pham The Duyet. Runner-up: Ms Tran Thi Thanh Nhi. Third place: Ms Nguyen Thi Bich.
New star Award — Potential Award: Ms Vu Phuong May.
These 4 champions would represent Vietnam competing in International Tea Masters Cup 2019.
Before the Cup, on September 16–18, the Organizing Committee also arranged a tea tour to ancient tea forest in Thong Nguyen Hoang Su Phi Ha Giang, where all of the champions, our VIP guests, judges and our tea friends visited hundred-year old tea trees, the ceremony of worshipping the great grand ancient tea tree, experienced staying one night in the Community House of Dao Ethnic people, and had special ancient Snow Shan Tea products produced by tea masters in this area as well as share with each other their skill, their technique and passion for tea.
